| | | Responsible for assisting the Financial Services Manager in the financial management of the Township to include carrying out accounting and budgeting processes. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Supervise five subordinate positions; Accounts payable supervision, including review of all invoices and proper posting in the system, insuring that all required documentation for purchases has been completed in accordance with The Woodlands Township policy; Assist the Financial Services Manager with sales tax compliance supervision; Review of all bank reconciliations for preparation of monthly financial reports, as well as yearend financial statements; Maintenance of general ledger, including entries to the GL; Budget, including posting budget entries and amendments under the supervision of the Financial Services Manager; Assisting the Financial Services Manager in the preparation of the annual audit and corresponding (CAFR); Assist the Financial Services Manager with the preparation of special departmental reports and other financial reports and analysis as deemed necessary; Assist the Financial Services Manager in accounting for bonds, new accounts, and management of related agreements and contracts; and Assist the Financial Services Manager in the financial management and administration of economic development zones; | Skills/Requirements
| | | The person in this position should have increasingly responsible experience in governmental financial planning and administration, meticulous attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. A four year degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of five years of experience in an accounting capacity, with at least two years of supervisory experience required. GFOA certification and/or CPA certificate a plus. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, leadership potential and be an innovative, flexible problem solver who values teamwork, strategic thinking and a high performance culture that results in high quality service to customers. | | |
